A Singapore-based tanker and bunker vessel owner is rolling out artificial intelligence and surveillance systems to reduce the risk of accidents and improve operational efficiency
Singfar Group is installing artificial intelligence (AI) video analytics and camera surveillance on its tankers and bunkering ships to prevent accidents and improve safety.
Singfar’s investment in AI and cameras reflects its proactive stance on risk management, in an industry where incidents can carry significant financial and environmental repercussions.
iO3’s V.Sight video analytics system will be installed across its fleet of bunker vessels and oceangoing tankers.
Singfar’s bunker vessels have a capacity ranging from 500-2,000 tonnes of marine gasoil (MGO) and 2,000-6,2000 tonnes of heavy fuel oil.
A series of newbuilding deliveries including dual-fuel (LNG/MGO) tankers and medium-range tankers able to run on B100 biofuel and MGO will soon enhance its fleet, which will all be equipped with V.Sight AI, which provides real-time monitoring and alerts crew to risks.
“At Singfar, we recognise technology as a catalyst for transformation, driving us to lead the industry forward while exceeding evolving regulatory and operational expectations,” said Singfar Group head of shipmanagement Jeffrey Kong.
“Integrating iO3’s AI-powered system allows us to strengthen our fleet’s efficiency, elevate safety standards, and redefine operational excellence within the bunker industry.”
V.Sight intends to support regulatory compliance and optimise fleet performance by tracking vessel functions through AI-generated analytics.
